Looks like your headlight grill is not fully clipped in on the bottom. 🙂 bumper itself looks great, I think the bull bar should sit a little higher for proportion – it’ll be interesting what it looks like when you get the lights on. Lights going over the bull or under?

Bloody hell Marius, you’re right. I just went out and fixed the grill. It’s like being caught with fly down.
Yeah, the light bar. Well there was this section of tubing at the shop. The end of a rolled coil we use for a particular job. So the radius was fixed. I cut two lengths and joined them with a straight. The height was therefore dictated by that radius. I thought it not bad as it will place the aux lights in front of the sheet metal and not the grill.
We’ll see. It looked ok in the mock up I did a while back. Yes, so the lights sit on top of the bar.
That leaves me with space below the bar for a LED light bar if I want to go that way.
It’s a light bar, not really a bull bar. It’s not really going to stop much in an impact.

I think with the lights above the bar it’ll balance the proportions and probably be spot-on. Look forward to seeing it with the lights!

I hope so. I’m struggling with the lights. The cibie SC lights I’ve been using for a few years, great lights but the silvering is coming off the reflectors. So I’m trying to fit in some 6.5″ H4 lamps into the housings. So close but not quite yet. Might be cool with high low beams (and a city light) in the aux housings.

I was just in Norway and I loved seeing all the regular cars with big old fog/driving lights. They’re so uncommon here, but 6.5″ H4s would be pretty awesome.

Yeah, even with the LED light bar stuff there is something special about a big incandescent aux light. I’m sorry my cibies have degraded, they were remarkable even with 55W bulb.

Looks great Alistair!
What did you end up doing to integrate the former spare tire, now big ass battery tray?

I’ve still got a bit of a space between the bottom lip of the bumper and the tray. I’m not sure if I will fill that space. I gotta back up, the centre section of the lower lip was initially to be attached to the tray but I think I decided against that after I had the experience of getting the battery onto the tray. The extra part would make that harder.
Doesn’t make much sense in explaining, easier to show. I’ll do that later
