Vanagon – Small Car stainless header failure

Was installed new about a year ago, in a EJ25 powered syncro. I suppose disappointing would be one way to describe it.

Doesn’t look good.
How many miles on it?
Strange to have that crack with the flat between those 2 pipes.
I could understand after 5 or 6 years….

  not many miles, I’m guessing less than 8k. The replacement SC header did have a thicker welded brace and perhaps the new tubing was beefier (did not measure).

It was sold as a SS pipe?
Disappointing not the exact word I have in mind
