Vanagon – pop top on!

Finally! Not sitting quite right, especially on the passenger side where it looks like it has to come forward about 1/2″, and also sit down on the rear about 1/4″. I’m optimistic I can get it sitting right.

Can’t wait to see it in person!

      hey,

I’m fiddling with getting the top to sit down even all the way around. Started with the rear corners sitting back and a bit high. Fixed that by moving hinge brackets forward and also loosening the screws holding top to hinge (2 of them have elongated holes in hinge.) That solved it, sits nicely. Then I attached the front lifting mechanism and the top went out of alignment a bit. During the process of getting back into shape, I have reproduced the same situation you have, ie the driver’s side front not sitting down right.

I hope I come up with a solution that can help you too.

    Sounds promising… FIngers crossed!

Hey seriously… you’re in line for some majorly big kudos.

You actually “made your own” Syncro Westy 🙂 There’s lots of talk, spectulation and fantasy out there about the conversion job but I don’t think so many have actually undertaken it and gotten it done.
