Vanagon – what part is this?

I was rummaging through the boxes of Vanagon stuff in what I charitably call the workshop. I was making an attempt at a clean up and I came across this thing. I don’t know where or when I picked it up, but I don’t think it was on any of my vans.

      why would you cover it?

so it is covered (rim shot)

I guess they wouldn’t just cover the hole with the headliner, someone would poke their finger through it.

Ok Marius, did you take more than 5 seconds to try to identify it or just click through to comments right away?

I tried to figure out what it was. πŸ™‚ Is the plug underneath the headliner, or is the plug filling the hole in the headliner?

That is the plug for the interior lights hole above the front left seat

You got it, but it could also be used on the front right side. I think there are holes in the body on both sides, no?

      cheers

PS nice blog (http://vwt3.hu/). I’ll use Chrome to look at it, I like the built in translation feature. One thing right away – I envy the phone dial wheels.

I have one like that too (if I can find it…), same as you, I don’t know from where I got it especially since it doesn’t match the color of the van…..

why do we keep these things? Maybe a garage sale is the solution.
