So, which one is closest to your reality?

Saddle Tramps continues to post interesting campers. The juxtaposition of these two vehicles made me think about fantasy and reality.

Both! And neither. One’s too precious, the other’s an expedition vehicle more than a camper. And a well-funded expedition at that.

What’s the base vehicle on the estate? Looks like ’60s British?

Good guess, it’s an Austin A55. I have a faded pic of me as young kid clutching my model sailboat in front of saloon version.

More pics the Austin here http://www.simoncars.co.uk/austincv/a55.html

Cool. That looks like the Suntor “caravanette” on Simoncars.

I’m reminded I not too long ago read an exhaustive history of the Mini…amazing that they built and sold that car for less than cost for so many years…lose a pound on every one and make it up in volume, I guess. Perhaps they came from that village where they eked out a living by taking in each other’s laundry.

That making it up on volume quip never fails to make me smile. I like the laundry one too.
