Vanagon – behind seat storage rack

Ok, right away, I know this will appeal to only a few. But it works well, it’s stiff and secure. I quickly machined a bear spray holder and printed a flashlight holder for examples of things to attach. Bag type things can use Velcro straps. Yes, it’s the molle/PALS type system.

I’ll make them to sell if I get enough interest

Pretty sweet looking product Alistair. That might even come in handy for other vehicles like my full size motorhome.

If head rest post diameter and spacing same….. and distance from posts to seat back….

It’s hard to make universal. I did what I did just for our vans 🙂

    holy high-tech batman! 😉

funny thing is – we normally keep a bear spray in the trough above the sink but at some point someone moved it to the little console box we have between the front seats (and then other stuff got piled on top of that) and then one day I was at the lumber yard loading some long boards that ran right from the van tailgate rear door to the dash and somehow the weight of them managed to push on the bear spray just enough to discharge a tiny bit of it in the van. I started coughing and had no idea what had happened and then a few days later our youngest got a burning face while in the van, and then again the next day too. Turns out the spray had got on the seat belt and she had a habit of rubbing her face. I ended up washing out the entire van interior with soap and water.

All this is to say I like the idea of the dedicated bear spray holder 🙂

      Hey Ed,

Yeah I kept two cans in the trough too. And I wondered about something like what happened to you. It’s a good story, be family lore for years 🙂
