Start of it, the low profile drain being used by the kids on samba
I didn’t like how the strainer fit into the sink hole. I didn’t like other methods of making it fit. So I made a dimple die thing.
Pics kinda explain it all. One note, if making the die , take another five thou ( inches) off the short straight section of the upper die. Shown as 2.150” in drawing . Make it 2.145”

I think the thing I like best about AB’s mods [and his posts on them – thank you AB] is his assumption that what he’s doing is pretty normal, and most, many, some of us could actually duplicate them. I don’t know about the rest of you but in my case that’s over estimating my capabilities by a significant amount. But for a brief moment when looking at things like this there’s a burst of ” Wow. That looks neat. I wonder how I could do that?” before reality kicks in.

I’m only showing the things I sort of kinda can do. You have no idea of the number of things I’m totally inept about. And on the whole I’d rather make than buy. I get pleasure from it, mostly.
